Mevaldi B.V. was founded in 2020 with the scope of investigating, selecting and bringing to market new technologies in the field of bio-based chemicals.
Our first products are build from fermented sugars or second generation biomass.
Our products can be made out of a wide range of sustainable cellulosic feedstocks, like woodscrap or beetroot pulp, through a combined fermentation and chemical process.
Mevaldi is producing bio-based building blocks and related products for new bio-polymers and recyclable Polyurethanes (PUR). Our products are competitively priced compared to petroleum based alternatives.
We have a revolutionary approach that integrates the large scale biological conversion (fermentation) of sugars to mevalonolactone (MVL) followed by chemical conversions to various bio-monomers, such as Nuvone® (3MdVL), Pentonext® (3MPD) and other biobased diols.
Our first products are Nuvone® (3-methyl-delta-valerolactone) and Pentonext® (3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol) and derivatives.
We are currently working on the use of Nuvone® and Pentonext® in biopolyols and biopolymers.
Nuvone® can be used in ring-opening polymerization processes.
